Acceptance

By creating an account, downloading the app, or accessing any part of the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least the minimum age required by your country (typically 14 years) to use Mately. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

Account responsibility

• Use accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity from your account and devices.
• Do not use another person account, impersonate others, or create accounts to abuse the service.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Prohibited conduct

You may not use Mately to engage in any of the following:

• Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of any individual or group.
• Hate speech, threats, or incitement to violence.
• Sexual exploitation, solicitation, or sharing of non-consensual intimate content.
• Impersonation of any person, organization, or entity.
• Spam, phishing, scams, or any form of deceptive or misleading activity.
• Sharing malware, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt or damage systems.
• Posting content that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempting to bypass safety features, content moderation, or account restrictions.
• Scraping, crawling, or collecting user data without authorization.
• Attempting to interfere with other users enjoyment of the platform.

Content you share

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Mately. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute your content on the platform for the purpose of operating the service. This license ends when you delete your content or account, subject to reasonable backup retention periods.

You are solely responsible for the content you share. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to share any content you post, including any text, image, video, logo, music, or other media, and that your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

Messaging and safety

• Do not spam, harass, threaten, scam, exploit, or attempt to harm other users or their devices.
• Mately may enforce message limits, media limits, account restrictions, reports, appeals, and safety checks as needed to protect the community.
• Security features such as end-to-end encryption are core protections and must not be bypassed, disabled, or misrepresented.
• Exploiting vulnerabilities, reverse-engineering the app, or attempting to compromise other users accounts is strictly prohibited.

Moderation and enforcement

We reserve the right to review, hide, remove, or restrict access to any content that violates these terms or applicable law. Enforcement actions may include:

• Removing or hiding individual posts, comments, vclips, stories, or media.
• Limiting or disabling specific account features (messaging, posting, stories, etc.).
• Suspending or permanently banning accounts for severe or repeated violations.
• Reporting illegal activity to relevant authorities where required by law.

Moderation decisions are made to protect the safety of the community and are final in most cases, subject to the appeals process described below.

Reports and appeals

Users can report content or accounts they believe violate these terms. All reports are reviewed by the moderation team. If your content or account is restricted, you may submit an appeal by contacting support with a clear explanation and any relevant context or evidence. Appeals are reviewed promptly and a decision is communicated to the affected user.

Premium features

Paid or premium features may add customization, convenience, badges, higher limits, or creator tools. Security and privacy protections remain available to all users regardless of payment status.

Third-party services

Mately uses self-hosted infrastructure for all core services. The only third-party integration is Firebase Cloud Messaging (optional, disabled by default) for push notifications on legacy builds. If enabled, FCM processes device push tokens under Google's privacy policy. No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs are integrated.

Intellectual property

The Mately name, logo, brand assets, wordmarks, icons, UI designs, and code are the exclusive property of Mately. You may not use our trademarks, brand names, logos, or visual identity without prior written permission.

Service changes

Features, functionality, and design may change as the product improves. We strive to maintain backward compatibility where possible, but reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Mately may suspend or remove access if an account creates risk, violates terms, or is required by law or platform policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Mately does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mately shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, content, or goodwill. This includes damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, illegal activity, or conduct that poses a risk to other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time through the app. Upon termination, your access to the service ends, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
